For as long as I can remember, I've been fascinated by the occult and her mysteries. From an early age, I would wait until everyone in the house was asleep to sneak down to the computer to scour early esoteric sites like Crystalinks and Twilit Grotto. Growing up as an irreverently-spooky queer in a strictly-conservative Christian household, access to information was more often censored than not– the Internet answered the call of my deepening curiosity, offering the ambrosial fruits of all things forbidden and magical.
In the years since, this curiosity only quickened– demanding the study and practice of a mélange of spiritual paths, divination techniques, and magical frameworks. The ways of working that have taken root in my regular practice are often the simplest of folk magics, seeded in family healing traditions passed down through my Balkan and Mediterranean heritage. As if fated to this work, I have long found myself in position to provide spiritual counsel and service to those in my sphere.
Though I would moonlight as the village witch for a decade or so, it wasn’t until I started a deep study of Hellenistic Astrology that my own ritual practice began to solidify. Working with planetary spirits and archetypes initiated real change in both my inner and outer life, providing a foundation for the practical integration of other modalities like tarot, geomancy, traditional witchcraft, and psychoanalysis.
After spending the last few years honing my craft and synthesizing a lifetime of study and personal magical practice, I’m now offering my work to folks beyond friends and family. By sharing this work with others, I hope to connect in mutual healing, learning, and growth.
I’d like to thank the many teachers and mentors who have shared their precious knowledge and magic with me. I feel very grateful to my 1-on-1 mentors Larry Arrington, Sasha Ravitch, and Michelle Embree; as well as the great teachers I’ve been able to study with: Demetra George, Jason Holley, Kelly Surtees, Austin Coppock, Dr. Al Cummins.
Sincerely yours,
Jovanni Spucchi
